It’s a rare but wonderful experience when you approach a creature with the intent to convert, but discover that he is the one with something to teach you.  Blinky here is a gifted theologian, philosopher and apologist in the grand tradition of St. Augustine. Some may find his views on the status of female outreach ministers rather disappointing, but there can be no doubting his steadfast faith.

I gave this disciple the old “leave your home and follow me” line and to be quite honest, she took it a little too seriously. Your pastor’s day job doesn’t allow pets – when are you going to get that?

I know – woah. There is obviously some major diabolism at play here. I did my best for him, but sometimes you just have to know when to walk away.

It knew my name.

The force of my faith healing hit this devotee so hard he briefly swooned onto the sidewalk. He awoke with the miraculous ability to sing the birds down from the trees. How great is our cause!

The awesome power of conversion truly knows no bounds. He rode away on the bike right after our meeting and now runs his own delivery business. We are changing lives, people!

Look at this wretched cat. It’s been so long since he’s sniffed a clean hand, he’s forgotten what it even feels like.

I met this handsome elkhound on a recent trip to Queen’s Quay. He was about to ship out on the Vladivostok and promised to bring the good news to the dogs, cats and stevedores of the world. Forge ahead, sailor!

A recent trip down to Toronto’s Harbourfront netted me an opportunity to commune with one of that area’s park-dwelling strays. His hedonistic days of sniffing the tailpipes of cars and raiding the wild catnip patches of the Music Garden are thankfully all behind him now.

Subsequent to the laying on of hands, this innocent looking creature immediately confessed to a prior career as a full-time witch’s familiar.  She promised to melt her cauldron into farm implements for the needy.

Guest pastor Ashley from Toronto keeps the faith with the same well-dressed cat we met last fall on Havelock Street! Nice to see a recent convert keeping the faith so successfully. Boots now runs a soup kitchen for recovering subway mice.
