Pastor Derek and I witnessed this cat single-handedly lifting the back wheels of this car off a pinned orphan. We tried to get his name, but all he would say is “Just doing my job.” Bless you, tabby. Bless you.

We discovered this harvest-hued tomcat in the fertile regions of the east end. He was planning a Samhain celebration, but we talked him into hosting a Purity Feast instead. Onward and upward, young tabby!

The roving ministerial team tells me this innocent-looking calico cat was once prideful, spiteful and vindictive. She now volunteers as a drapery repair seamstress, devoting herself to a life of atonement for past misdeeds.

This is Little Smokey – one of the first pals I made on moving into the neighbourhood. I discovered him as a young gent, frolicking with a discarded sock dangerously close to oncoming traffic. We came to an agreement that day: he would no longer play daredevil games and I would turn a blind eye to the ever-dwindling squirrel population.

Pastor Derek met this orange tabby on a recent jaunt through the neighbourhood. This photo displays true mastery of the one-finger beckoning technique.

Frequent visitors to Koreatown will be familiar with Bloorcat, who hangs out all day on the busy sidewalk in front of his storefront apartment. He’s always got the best gossip.

Guest pastor Derek met this lovely lady on Euclid Street recently. I haven’t seen a conversion this heartfelt in all my years as a street minister. Not that I’m jealous. More pics after the jump.

Here we see guest pastor Derek from Toronto reaching out to street youth and curing a raging migraine at the same time. When you do the right thing, the good deeds just pile up on one another!

Bob Johnson here enjoys long afternoons on the patio, stalking pigeons and snuggling with dogs. His ecumenical approach to interspecies relations is truly inspiring.

It’s a rare but wonderful experience when you approach a creature with the intent to convert, but discover that he is the one with something to teach you.  Blinky here is a gifted theologian, philosopher and apologist in the grand tradition of St. Augustine. Some may find his views on the status of female outreach ministers rather disappointing, but there can be no doubting his steadfast faith.
